The ship lurched, throwing me against the metal wall of the cramped cargo hold. My heart pounded in my chest, a drumbeat of fear and adrenaline. The space pirates had captured my ship, and I was now a prisoner in their clutches.”Welcome aboard, little bird,” a gruff voice boomed from the doorway.
A towering figure, with skin like rough bark and eyes like burning embers, stood before me. He was unlike anything I had ever seen.”Who… who are you?” I stammered, my voice trembling.”I’m Groot,” the towering figure replied, his voice surprisingly gentle.
A small, furry creature with a mischievous glint in his eye emerged from behind the giant. “He’s just the muscle,” the creature said, his voice a sharp, nasal rasp. “I’m Rocket, and this here’s my crew. We’re the Guardians of the Galaxy.”My eyes widened.
I had heard tales of the Guardians, legendary space adventurers who fought for justice and protected the innocent. I had never thought I would meet them, let alone be in their custody.”Guardians?” I repeated, my mind struggling to grasp the situation.
“But… why me?”Rocket shrugged. “Found you on a distress beacon. Figured we’d give you a lift.”I looked at the other figures in the room, their faces a mix of curiosity and amusement. There was a woman with emerald skin and eyes that shimmered like stars.
A man with a strange, glowing helmet and a mischievous grin. These weren’t the heroes I had imagined. They were rough, unconventional, and full of contradictions. But there was something about them, a spark of hope, a glimmer of compassion that I couldn’t quite place.
As I watched them, I realized that my life was about to change forever.
