Many of the costumes were quite elaborate and involved a lot of layers, so we had to make sure that they were functional as well as beautiful. Interviewer:What are some of your favorite costume designs from the film? Costume Designer:I’m very proud of all of the costumes in the film, but I have a particular fondness for Elphaba’s green gown.
It was such a challenge to find the right shade of green that would be both flattering and iconic. We experimented with a lot of different fabrics and dyes before we found the perfect one. I also love Glinda’s pink dress, which was inspired by the classic Hollywood glamour of the 1950s.
It’s a very playful and whimsical design that captures Glinda’s bubbly personality. Interviewer:Thank you for sharing your insights with us, [Costume Designer’s Name]. We can’t wait to see what you do next! Costume Designer:Thank you.
